What this directory is

The Klang Valley Cleaning Services Directory is one of the independent Malaysian service directories we publish. It ranks home and office cleaning companies across Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Puchong and Klang, scored by the same published scoring method every Meridian Guides directory uses.

This page explains how the directory is built. It is not the directory and it names no company. The ranked list lives on klangvalleycleaning.my.

Cleaning is the category where the difference between a review-based ranking and a paid one is easiest to feel. Almost anyone can produce a good first clean. The question a householder is really asking is whether the same crew will still be doing a good job in month six, and that is a question only a body of reviews can answer.

How the ranking is built

Scores are built from public customer reviews, weighing volume, recency, rating distribution, and what reviewers say about the parts of the job that matter for this trade. The full weighting is on how we rank businesses.

For cleaning, the weighting shifts away from speed and towards consistency. Two things carry most of it.

The first is whether the standard holds. Reviews from repeat customers are the most useful evidence a cleaning directory has, because they describe a business over time rather than on one good morning. Where reviewers describe the service slipping after the first few visits, the score reflects that, even where the star ratings look healthy.

The second is reliable attendance. A cleaner who does not turn up on the agreed morning has failed in a way that no amount of thoroughness the following week repairs, particularly for an office. Reviewers say so plainly, and the method reads it.

What the score never uses: payment, advertising spend, or any commercial relationship with us.

Different trade, different criteria

A locksmith is scored heavily on response time. A cleaning company is not, because arriving fast is not what makes the service good. Criteria follow the trade, and that is set out per category in the method.

Why the coverage is the whole Klang Valley

Cleaning companies staff routes rather than suburbs. A crew that cleans homes in Petaling Jaya in the morning may be in a Kuala Lumpur office by the afternoon, and companies quote across the metro area as a matter of course.

So the directory covers Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Puchong and Klang as one market. Drawing five council-shaped lists would split the same set of companies five ways and describe nothing that exists on the ground. The reasoning behind each coverage decision is set out under our directories.

The monthly re-check

Every listing is re-checked once a month. Scores refresh against the current body of public reviews, and businesses that have closed come off automatically at that re-check.

The refresh matters here because cleaning companies change hands and change crews. A score built on reviews from three years ago may describe a business that no longer exists in any meaningful sense. The monthly cycle keeps recency working in the reader’s favour rather than against it.

If you run a cleaning company and something on your listing is wrong, or you want it removed, email hello@meridianguides.my with the business name, the directory it appears on, and what is wrong. The target for a standard request is five business days, and removal is honoured without penalty. The full process is on corrections, disputes and removals.

Cleaning Services Directory questions

Does this page list cleaning companies?

No. This page explains how the Klang Valley Cleaning Services Directory is built and what its ranking means. The ranked businesses are published on the directory itself at klangvalleycleaning.my.

Why is response time not a big factor for cleaning?

Because cleaning is booked in advance and usually repeats. A company that arrives within the hour is not solving a problem the way an emergency plumber does. What matters is whether the twelfth visit is as thorough as the first.

Do you rank home cleaning and office cleaning separately?

The directory records which a business does, so you can filter to the one you need. The underlying score is built the same way for both, from public reviews of that business.

Can a cleaning company pay for a higher position?

No. The ranking engine is featured-blind and cannot see whether a business has paid for anything. No payment changes a score on any Meridian Guides directory.

My cleaning company is listed and I did not ask to be. Is that a problem?

It costs you nothing and requires nothing from you. Listings are compiled from public sources. If a detail is wrong or you want the listing removed, email hello@meridianguides.my.
